Preserving Our History for Future Generations

The Toledo Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Toledo, Washington, and the Cowlitz River Valley. Through exhibits, education, and community partnerships, we work to safeguard our shared heritage for future generations.

The Toledo Historical Society, founded in 2004, is alive and well.

We had been using a space in the rear of the Toledo Library that was donated to us for use in displaying historical items. Fortunately for the Library, they received a grant to create a special children's library space in the space previously donated for Toledo Historical Society use.

Unfortunately for the Toledo Historical Society, we had to move into temporary storage in the rear of the Toledo City Hall. We still actively accept donations including historical items. We are now seeking a new space or building to house the historical society and provide the opportunity to create a museum for Toledo. We hope that a donor will step forward soon with space or a building (even a house) to allow us to make the items in our inventory easily available.

The Toledo Historical Society is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
